Resource Provisioning in Edge Computing for Latency-Sensitive Applications

Low-latency IoT applications, such as autonomous vehicles, augmented/virtual reality devices, and security require high computation resources to make decisions on the fly. However, these kinds of applications cannot tolerate offloading their tasks be processed a cloud infrastructure due experienced latency. Therefore, edge computing (EC) is introduced enable low latency by moving processing closer users at network. The network characterized heterogeneity devices (EDs) forming it; thus, it crucial devise novel solutions that take into account different physical each ED. In this article, we propose resource representation scheme, allowing ED expose its information supervisor node through mobile EC application programming interfaces proposed European Telecommunications Standards Institute. about exposed time allocation required. To end, leverage Lyapunov optimization framework dynamically allocate EDs. test our model, performed intensive theoretical experimental simulations testbed validate scheme impact system's parameters. have shown approach outperforms other benchmark approaches provides optimal consumption.
